Had one at our last house because we had a pond that the local herons got interested in, we never lost another fish after we installed one of these.

The only problem was our cat is completely mad, he used to run back and forwards triggering it and getting soaked, he absolutely loved playing with it.

I had one of those scarecrows sprayers and it does work but they can spray a long way so be careful it doesn't go over the fence and soak next door....
You can also get the ultrasound type that the cats can hear and don't like and they work too but me and my kids could hear it and its painful!

But for many people its like asking to give them the earth. They expect consideration themselves but are unwilling to reciprocate.

Our cat is called Crazy because he is crazy, we also have three large guard dogs and he is the boss, he lives outside with the dogs and they even wait for him to finish eating before they eat. Nature is a wonderful thing, he doesn't bother with birds because we also have a parrot and if he thinks the parrot is under threat he defends her then goes to sleep under her cage and if anything moves he's straight there.

I have astro turf in my back garden and my neighbour has at least 9 cats at the last count They are always coming over and messing on the astro, not just that but at this time of year they hide it it the brown leaves coming of the trees, blends in a treat!

I wouldn't want to hurt them but whenever I get a chance they get a damn good squirt with the hose pipe

If you position it right the little scrotebags will have to get wet before they can have it away, the only problem this time of year is you can't have it working if it's likely to freeze so it might be worth trying something else to deter the cat.
