I don't, not at all but I have no problem with it as a final option for self defence or protection of the defenceless.

Silent Roar is the stuff. It's supposed to be lion poo, but it ain't.

My neighbour ( dec'd) used to cover his flower beds with pegged down 1/2 " galv chicken wire , to stop the localities cats using his flower beds as a common midden . He used to reckon weeding wasn't a problem for he'd weed the beds weekly .
There are hose pipe connected battery operated or low voltage PIR sprayers that spray about 18 feet in a fan in the desired direction .... designed precisely for the cat problem but.... mains pressure on a hot day can see the hose piping & connectors soften & blow apart . Ideally you'd need a simple anti broken pipe restrictor device on at the tap , so if a pipe did come apart the piston in the auto stop will cut off the water in a few seconds .... well worth it if you are on metered water charges .

IIRC..... when I looked into this several years ago for a friend the battery operated sprayers were £75 each on Amazon & the plumbed in auto cut of around £18

how do you make it stay still long enough?

Each day put your pee in a dish or directly on the flower bed out of a four litre jug that's been filled whilst in the house , that way you don't get arrested for flashing & perversions etc.
