    At least you'd feel it if the oil ran out. The felt wipers should also hold some I guess.

    Really undecided on this which is unusual for me. You can't help feeling that the maker should know what's best, but then again that's been proved wrong many times.

    Well the maker is specifying 10 weight way oil and that makes sense
    Need to do the oil between two fingers test

    Personally I'd just be using my normal slideway oil on it, slideway68 from Smith and Allen, if I thought it were too thick I'd use a 32 or lower.

    Harrison spec an ISO 150 for the L5 headstock, anything other than a hot summers day resulted in a spindle that would barely move, switched to a iso 68 in that too. It's a 10 weight in the Bridgeport spindle bearings I think.

    220 must be like treacle.
