Consider this, machine the top to half the diameter then make a new piece to match the old top that is no longer there and then screw on.
Similar in principle to a big end on a conrod

Or if there isn't enough meat to tap a thread you could take the lot off below the hole and make a new one completely effectively the shape of a pilot bearing but with a plate on the side to bolt through the side of the main casting.





could have bought another one a good runner with a knackered switch cheap but I couldn't be bothered no need for one donkey saw and a stihlsaw does everything I want thank u
