As this is my first post I would like to say Hello
Down to business: I bought a cheap Chinese sheet metal roller/guillotine/pressbreak and managed to break the cast iron casting that transfer the effort to the press break bit
My own fault - trying to bend SS that was too thick
Bottom line is that I would like to repair it. Brazing is no good as it won't be strong enough. I've got a serious tool habit so have a choice of gas, MIG, TIG or arc. I much prefer TIG welding and almost all my welding is TIG these days. I use an R-Tech 201 (200amp AC/DC).
I have been down at TradeQuip (BOC) today and they can't help with any TIG wire for Cast Iron, and even if they could would want to sell me a shed load
I watched a vid on Youtube of a chap who repaired a vice using TIG and stainless steel filler rod with a certain measure of success.
I know the obvious method is to use nickle stick rods with the arc welder, but I'd much prefer to TIG it, if it's practical.
Any views?
Thanx
Ralph
