To be fair, several on this thread need to take a breath. Move away from the keyboard.

If someone wants to share how they do something - brilliant. (I like seing the Alba 1 Resto)

If they don't (Assuming you've asked nicely - not just expected to be told) surely that's up to them?

I feel this way about some other things I make - not welding related - but it's almost like intellectual property - it's cost me HOURS and quite a bit of MONEY and countless mistakes to learn as nobody else had done it. Should I share so somebody else can do the same thing that I'm trying to sell?

What a wonderful blank for two welding tables! I would probably be able to split it into two identical parts using an angle grinder, a drill, wedges and controlled hammer blows. Legs from rails and wheels from carronade and it's in the bag.

That's a different scenario.

Anyone who is planning on restoring items for any type of business purpose will likely already have enough knowledge, tools & experience to do so. As to whether they're any good at it or not is a different kettle of fish.

Someone who is wishing to learn & do it for their own projects will occasionally need help.

There tends to be a lot of knowledge imparted by the knowledgeable on here to help those who are trying to learn. That's how it ought be, in general. There will obviously be occasional exceptions like yours, but what would this forum be like if no-one was willing to share & help.

To self proclaim to be "god mode restorations" it would be advisable to understand what that means.

For machines that means being able to measure, read and adjust the geometry of machines to a high level of precision, there are a few on here that are those people and they have in the past been spoken toward as if they are just being awkward.

If you go back through the thread regarding the shaper I said I would clean them for now until the machine was up and running...then I will scrape the front ways...head..and the carriage. Yes it would of been easier to do that first but because the shaper parts had been scattered everywhere I thought its best get it all together so nothing got lost or broken

While I am doing the cube I been slowly doing a piece of railway track that I will use as a anvil..but I did think about contacting British rail saying I aint happy because after ten years of 800 plus tons smashing up n down it 24hr a day the track has lost a bit of accuracy

Today..did a bit of painting for the alba shaper restoration. And done a bit of cast cleaning on the cube...a few dings and bruises to sort and a little bit of use on the top edge of the cube.... accuracy and precision police have been notified..

Those (4) corner bushings indicate to me it was on a CNC machine, looks like the Jergens location/locking system or similar.
