I've just (somewhat sadly) demolished a 1927 upright piano, and now have a load of cast from the frame. I could leave it out for the passing scrap metal guys or take it to the tip, but I know there are meltist types who might have a use for a load of pre-nuclear iron. Would have to be collected as it's rather heavy. Anyone interested????

Any thick bits, 20mm plus?
I've never ever left anything out for travelling collectors - don't want to tempt them in to thinking there's more to be had - You can weigh it in yourself if you have any local scrap metal places - take bank details, proof of address (and possibly V5 of the car you take it in if its your car) and as if by magic, the money will land in your account. Admittedly if it costs a tenner in fuel to get a fiver back its not worth it - but I wait until I have a boot/trailer full.

Because it was cast pre nuclear detonation, it's during smelting that nuclear impurities end up in the iron or steel.how can it be pre nuclear has it been submerged since the 1st world war
