Vauxhall don't have a clue about building a decent diesel emissions system.
They don't have a clue about building anything decent
Vauxhall don't have a clue about building a decent diesel emissions system.
The last Vauxhall I had anything to do with was the HB Viva I learned to drive in at the age nine or ten, would have been about 1974.^^^ this is Vauxhall we're talking about here!
Yea. I'd heard that about the Partner... In fact we used to have one with that fix in place... But our Peugeot Guy doesnt think it fits to our model Xsara. Anyway, with any luck the new springs will now outlast the car.The Peugeot partner had a recall over exactly that fault!
Might be worth seeing if the Picasso does too! Same floorpan?
Oh and the fix comprised of a shroud over the spring so WHEN one snapped it wouldn't cause a blowout!
I had the same when the 13 pin became testable, mot tester plugged in his test thing, it was all ok so no problem, but when I queried it with another garage I was told 7 pins weren't part of the test. Still don't think it is, but maybe wrong.
Having spent 35 years in the motor industry, designing, releasing and following-up warranty, it ****** me off to hear Vauxhall's statement that some fire were being caused by 'unauthorised repairs' !!
If the product had been designed and adequately tested and developed in the first place there would never have been any problems.
Slimy weasel words from management mouthpieces.
I thought heater boxes had a thermal fuse designed to protect the motor and hedgehog when air flow is restriced due to er....... snow blocking the inlet, both the Vito and A4 do
7 pin and 13 pin sockets are tested for security but it is only the 13 pin ones that are tested for operation using an approved device.
That Mr. Mee is exactly what I said, resistor / hedgehog = same thingInteresting quote ZX but this wouldn't prevent a heater resister from overheating, it would only stop the motor when it was engulfed in flames if the layout I have seen is correct, in any case they should have fitted the correct resister with thermal cutout but lets not forget they are about 0.143p more expensive.
My boss has a landrover, he's done far more than change the wipers in the last year. You must have a land rover...
That Mr. Mee is exactly what I said, resistor / hedgehog = same thing
And that is the nail well and truly hit on it's head.Oh @mrfuzzy , you've got it aaaallllll wrong...
It's not about how much energy was used and pollution caused in other countries, it's what comes out of the car that matters.
And so what if more emissions are produced to generate and supply the electricity to charge the batteries to make the car move - those emissions aren't coming from the back of the car.
And then recycling the batteries that uses more energy and produces more emissions than running and recycling a petrol version - they aren't coming from the car.
No, all those emissions are happening in another country or in one of those undesirable dirty smelly industrial areas far from the luxury river view apartments, so how can they possibly be attributed to the car?
It's not the car's fault that those other countries or those industrial areas of our own country have high rates of emissions and pollution, it's those that should be taxed because there's a possibility that the wind might carry their pollution into the latest up and coming area of a major city and mean the sensible people need to fit extra filtration to their air conditioning systems, surely there should be some sort of grant for those filters? Maybe it could come from taxing the areas around power stations? It's their fault after all...
