Carbon Monoxide poisoning

Bang on there @Parm !
When I was about 16 we nearly died with Co poisoning, me and my sister were feeling very tired and aching laying on the sofa. My mum made us get up and stand in the front garden as she knew something was wrong, she called my uncle and when he got there about 20 minutes later I went in to collect something and collapsed on the way back out. Very dizzy and weak but managed to get up and out!
We felt sick and very rough that night. Turns out the wxxkxx council boiler man never spotted that the flu exited into the conservatory!!!
It ain't worth pixxing about with stuff like this.

Nearly had a close call with a dodgy gas fire in my teens.
It wasn't until much later that I realised the reason the whole family was zonked out in the living room every winter evening was likely the fire / flue was dodgy. Obviously not enough to kill us, but we were likely saved by the draughts.

unrelated, we stayed in a really dodgy shepards hut the stove you could see air gaps all around the flue but this being -11 we had the fire on but kept the door open

about 1 in the morning the co alarm was going off the PPM read out was of the scale, fire was no longer alight.

Turns out that sheep **** that our dog decided to roll in whilst we where asleep sets of the CO alarm as do farts.

In Scotland we have all this coming in new legislation that we have to have CO alarms and interlinked fire alarms in every house by next year sometime.

I thought it was interlinked fire alarms, with a heat detector where there's cooking facilities?
I don't think CO is part of it.

It is, carbon monoxide alarms to be fitted where there is a fuel burning appliance or a flue.

Edit to make it clear the CO detectors do not need to be interlinked. They can (should) be standalone.

I checked last night, and that is correct.
Everything I'd seen about it, had only mentioned the fire and heat part, with nothing about the CO requirement.
