carbon copy sheets

looking for anywhere that sell the blue carbon copy sheets to replicate invoices i print my own blank invoice sheets then fill them out by hand, and at the moment am just filling both out and getting signatures on both. This is quite tedious on the larger ones so looking for carbon copy sheets.

can you buy them on their own or is it easier to just buy a cheap invoice book and use the sheet from there

The carbon paper in multi-part computer paper is single use only, so don't bother with that.

"Blast from the past" Used them everyday when working but have never found a use since ! We had them in boxes but one sheet lasted ages.
Just had a quick look on eBay and you need to search for carbon copy or carbon paper to get loads of choice.

When I worked for Burroughs we sold a "carbon paper" that was coated in tiny ink bubbles that burst under pressure. This meant that there was no carbon to get on your fingers.

The way instructors demonstrated this was to get the person with the whitest shirt and rub it on his chest. We were told to try this on secretary's blouses, but I don't think anyone plucked up the necessary courage.

If you print your invoices, the you would be better using NCR paper, then you can make your own invoice pads, we don't do this for invoices as they are never done on site, but, we do do them with our service site work sheets, machine service schedules, and many other documents, they are then like the NICEIC hand written cert pads.

NCR (No Carbon Required) paper only works with impact printers. With an inkjet or laser you'd have to print a run of top copies using plain paper and then a run using NCR paper for each copy, then collate them. Hard work, but it does give you the opprtunity of having each copy customised.

Not quite rtb,
What we do is complete blank forms on collated paper.
Then we glue these into sets and use them for manually filled in forms on site, I have been doing this successfully for nearly 10 years now, and it works.
You also do not use plain paper you use CF & CB, that is carbon front & carbon back, it works well.
You can buy this paper by the ream ready sorted, so if you want 40 invoices you load it up into the printer, and print 80 copes, then you get 40 fronts, 40 backs, all ready collated so all you do is glue whichever spine you want with NCR glue, which reacts only with the face to face coating and Bob is your Mothers Brother!

That NCR glue is a neat solution. The NCR paper we used wasn't coated, it had embedded ink bubbles and you could write on it with a scriber.

The CF & CB presumably refers to the chemical coating rather than yer actual carbon.

Not a clue rtb, I was never interested in the chemical make up of the paper, which, is unusual for me!
I just wanted it to work, I started doing it when I had a company employing 9 people & I wanted to get consistent information back from those "out of sight"!

I've used a few methods in the past, Sage's own invoicing, a bespoke system using Dataease and my favourite, one of those hand-held dispensers that takes fanfold NCR sets along with a Trodat Ink Stamp for my name & address.

Keep it too - the Windows version is pants. I think I've got copies of the disks too.

Years ago, I used to get my technicians to fill in their service reports on forms we had printed up on self carboning paper. It worked very well, customer got a copy and there were two more copies as far as I remember and nobody had to worry about carbon. That was fifteen years ago, in Indonesia. If the Indonesians could do it then, I'm sure it's possible now. Same thing applies about printing though, you need an "old fashioned" dot matrix printer otherwise it only prints the top copy. No problem for the service technicians, but the originals were brought back and typed up to be sent with the invoices. God knows why we needed so many copies, I suspect it was purely because it was a German company. As someone once said in a movie, they can't do anything unless someone has signed something meaningless in triplicate!
