Sounds like he's living the dream then? I'm always intrigued by folk who make a life for themselves in another country,....does he miss Yorkshire though, will he come back for good one day??

My friend John, Has been in the USA thirty years now, and has all sorts of jobs, From owning florist shops, shoe shops, sales manager at a car main dealers in Vegas, Artic driver and now delivering fifth wheelers, He always maintains that 99% of yanks are crazy, And he carries a gun 24/7. He would love to come back to the UK, But his family have grown up in the USA and he has quite a few grand children holding him there, Here is a photo of him picking up a his next delivery, It has three slide out sections for more living area when in use.

When I was at warbirds in Florida one of the volunteers rocked up with an f350 and one of those! What a machine
We were pitched besides one at Henley on Thames in June....it was massive with all the bits sticking out......must have been 15 feet high..........there were 2 of them in it.......I wouldnt want to tow that.......I like towing but I know my van isnt much bigger than my car....if the car goes through (with mirrors extended) I know that the van will.

The idea of 24/7 armament is the fly in the ointment as they say never carry a gun unless you're prepared to use it.

I think it’s just in general, few of the lads I worked with over there carried pistols of varying calibre as a matter of course and I was advised if I ever went over for a long time to do the same

if they see you are armed they will think twice about having a go but as said if you are armed you must be prepared to use it

That's the problem with guns, or knives etc. Got to be prepared to use them. Not my cup of tea.

Yeah its big over there, in most states except New york and California, where firearms ownership is suprisingly tough. But the Americans have the attitude that you are self reliant, you look out for yourself, and if someone puts you in danger, its your job to defend yourself. Not like here where you get the tar kicked out of you, or you get stabbed, and you endure it and let the police sort it later.

The USA is certainly a scary place, when you read of how many murders there are each year in the big cities, I think the figure is around 3000 deaths per city!!!
Having worked for an American Company for donkeys years I was often invited to "call in next time youre in Pheonix / Michigan / LA / ete etc"........I often thought yes and you would probably shoot me as I walked down your drive....mostly people I had met once for a few minutes

I regularly see things like that on the way to Silverstone, most of the well to do teams at the higher end of motor sports seem to have one. Quite impressive when all set up.
This year Mercedes had one where the roof raised up to create a double decker arrangement, very impressive
