Car waxes and coatings

As I am "up norf" for a bit I am spending my time with my boys, one of my lads, the youngest, stole requisitioned my Car Care box which had all my (mostly) Meguires stuff in it, Cloths Tyre dressing interior detailer and so on, but of course I cannot remember which "ceramic sealer" I used, it was pretty good but I don't fancy doing all the research over again so what do you guys suggest as a finish coat a Wax or one of the new trendy "Ceramic sealers"?

Do you trust your youngest to do the detailing for you? In exchange for requisitoning it maybe you can get him to coat your car?

i use autoglym polish then use there polish sealer coat . if you look at the instructions of the polish its slightly abrasive and removes fine scratches and dirt then you use there sealer coat

I like to see a clean and highly polished car, but when it comes to my own I always think life's to short and it will only get dirty again.

I was looking at the different spray on coatings and saw something similar called nano spray on Temu at a fifth of the price so I thought I'd give it a try. You clean the car then squirt this clear liquid stuff on and wipe it back off with a microfibre cloth. I thought I'd wasted a few quid but then later I looked at the car and it was positively gleaming, big surprise and for the next month whenever it rained the water stood on it as if it had just been waxed.

Isn't there a trade off here between appearance and staying power? Carnauba wax is had to beat for finished appearance but does not last as long as some of the modern stuff. Going back some time, used to keep the cars clean and polished, but at some point in time, I let them (and quite a few other things) get a bit neglected.

You wash cars…..I thought dirt protected the paintwork!

It's not April, yet.
I was surprised that come last April, the seller's polishing had been so good that the entire winter's muck hadn't stuck to the car, so I just left it.

They need consequences. Fingers crossed although I've probably jinxed it but ours was being a right little madam but since we came back from a weekend in Portugal she seems to have turned a corner.

Doubt it will last though.

I was once told…..children are the best advert for contraception. But to be nice to them as they will probably choose where you die!
