Bit of a random question but bought myself a rotisserie jig a couple of months ago and made some mounting brackets up for my classic beetle to got it all loaded. With the floor and body together it rotates ok, just have to be careful at the 90 degree point.
Today I separated the body and floor which has now made the body top heavy so when I attempted to turn it 90 degrees I couldn’t hold it and ended up hitting the floor (luckily no damage caused).
I’ve made sure the body is level with a spirit level on the door sill, but should the pivot points actually be at the same level rather than the body being level? I’ve read about different jigs having balance bars so the center of the car is actually inline with the pivot of the jig which mine doesn’t have.
Just looking to see if anyone has any advice or come across this? If not will just make there’s a couple of us before attempting to rotate due to the top heavy weight.
Thanks in advance
