Ratchet strap hooked round the wheel other end in the ramp, that’s how we used to load chassis-cabs out of Langley when Ford still built trucks there

It's 100 miles round trip which would roughly cost me £15 in fuel

Have used Halfords ones previously, But haven't checked to see how much they are on a trade card

I have that brand , mine came with some add on ramps for sporty cars with low bumpers

Longer ramps are less stressful to mount but I have never bumped over the retaining hoop at the end.

i bought the larger orangey yellow ones and came to about £50 i think, they take the weight of my transit and are bigger and wider than my old ramps.

Never had any issues personally

well if you want a day trip I will take some pictures of them, virtually unused, I suspect postage would be at least that!

was common to weld your own, mine are ones my dad made on the 70s well oversized compared to the ones linked

Snap, my Father made these to replace the wooden ones he made previously.

They are heavy with a long ramp making them easy to drive up, I have never had them skid away from the tyre.

My brothers friend used a set of ramps to do the clutch on his Moggy 1000 back in the 70's, the clutch was slipping so badly he had to take a run up. Instead of climbing the ramps he kept chasing them along the road. When he eventually got up them he panic braked and they acted like skis and he carried on going! Whoever made them decided to use angle along the base instead of legs and feet.

They look identical to the ones I have. I’m not impressed with mine to be honest. Even with the extension pieces for lower cars I couldn’t get a Focus ST onto them without catching the bumper. And said Focus ST manged to pull a couple of the tread sections off in the process. Mine came just about tacked together.... I’m going to rework them as it’s still easier than making them from scratch and they were cheap, but they aren’t a quality item by any means.

yeah they make those things that hook onto the ramp so the front wheel is on it then you drive up without skidding I would imagine they be easy to make rather than buying them

Two lengths of carpet doubled back over the bottom rung work.

if you are of a mind to make some I’ve had luck with a big I beam cut at an angle then a length of Durbar welded on the angled face as a ramp

to prevent skidding simply wrap a bit of carpet round the bottom rung. job jobbed.
