Might be worth a try, prob shares the oil with the auto box but would have to check.I had something similar in my full fat, albeit not lurching but clunk on full lock. Got water in the transfer case which was causing the LSD to prematurely lock up
Couldn't replicate it with the wheels off the ground. Solution was to change the oil.
Yes that is true, think lower ball joint needs checked first.None of the diff''s would be affected by jacking the car up and lowering it back down.
As hood said he did this and then was quiet for a couple of weeks.
Yeah but you probably didn't take your subarus through 2 1/2ft of water prior to exhibiting the problempMight be worth a try, prob shares the oil with the auto box but would have to check.
Longer shocks I think.Do the outback have the raising blocks the same as the (impreza/forester) or are they longer shocks completely,
Also are they self leveling rear shocks? (If so usually they sell for good money)
We just have gotten a legacy r spec b in at work for breaking. (Well I wanted the gearbox lol)
Awesome wagons really
Yes there is and not checked, suppose that could be something to look at as it definitely seems rotational in that it happens at regular intervals when on hard lock. Thing though is if it was the prop shaft would that only happen on full lock?Is there a prop shaft ? If so are the UJ's in good condition.
Nah brake callipers are new, wee bit of movement on the pins but nothing really and it happens whether or not on the brakes.Unlikely since the prop won't be changing angle in that situation.
It's not a lose brake caliper? Once had a clunk on change of direction and it was a lose caliper shifting when the brakes were applied.
That h6 engine is ledgendary.
I need the bigger 6 speed gearbox for my impreza due to hp figures will blow it so easily.
So you have changed
Drive shafts and drop links,
Springs are complete and not broken,
Suspension arm bushes are OK,
And you say it' coming from the front corners, (wheel area)
What are your tyre conditions and pressures like? Any abnormal wearing?
Now your saying rotatonal would come back to cracked disc, or a rusty patch on the disc, or a square bearing in the wheel bearing
Would that only affect things when hard lock though?flush the rear lsd diff with the correct oil
Wondered about wheel bearing as well but there is no real noise as you normally get with a worn wheel bearing. Then again if it is as you say "square" then it may not be like a normal noise with a worn bearing.or a square bearing in the wheel bearing
