car locking wheel nut removal

Is nicking wheels, or at least the standard alloys, not upgraded ones still a thing? Not seen a car up on bricks for donkeys.

Been years since I’ve heard of alloys being nicked. I don’t bother with lock nuts anymore

First thing I did on wifey's Swift Sport. Didn't want to find that we needed a chisel or similar to take a wheel off further down the road.

We attacked the brakes this afternoon. Passenger side was a pain two broken bolts to remove, took us over two hours to complete that side. We decided that was enough for today, it was peeing down too. It dried up 20 minutes later so we went out to do the other side, convinced we’d be breaking more bolts. Half an hour and the drivers side was done. Every bolt came out easily. He can now get it mot’d and sold

Just to let everyone know, I tried the '1 minute' trick in the video that I shared before, and it works a treat.
Yes that's one minute to remove the spline-fitted top-key of a McGaurd/BMW style locker. Then you have to weld a proper nut to it to make your spline-tool.

Apart from being late to the party i had this issue recently and after many DIY attempts/tools took them to the local tyre place - 5 mins later best £30 i spent.
Admittedly they did use the Laser tool but i could justify investing £300 for that set.
