Two weeks ago I decided I did not like where Aldi had placed a cast iron stob, the car lost the battle and has just returned from the insurance fix.

New rear door panel, and superficial scratching respray on back wing, all as good as new.

Obviously there has been no crash impact damage other than the crease in the door done at less than 5mph and nothing that would ever effect it's driving

Now then: is my car now a cat c, d or whatever, the log book has not been requested.

If a buyers hpi check is made will it come up as accident repaired, I am suspecting it will but been a while since I was involved in the trade.

only if they decided it wasnt worth fixing and "wrote it off"

a normal repair wont show up.

depends on what the insurance said to you also age and value of car

if if was cat C or D they would have wrote it off and offered you a pay out not a repair

They would have also informed you of their decision should they want to write it off.

There will be no 'cat' marker on the vehicle, as its been repaired and returned.

i never park near concrete bollards. ive hit one on front of van reversed in to one and rubbed up the side of the van so now i wont park against something that a cant see above the bonnet

Yeah that's what happened to me, parked along side it, did the shopping and came to drive away, the bollard was right under my passenger mirror area so could not see it, bit of left hand lock and crunch, rear passenger door bent in, over a grands worth of damage altogether.

I have protected no claims but will take that with a pinch of salt, renewal due in a month so will be interesting to see the increase.

they will honour it if its the same company u have insured with when u renew its when u change to someone else they sting u for it and it dont count when u renew go on go compair site and get cheapest quotes . i did and saved 60 quid and im still insured with the same company just a diffrent agent .the robbin gits just try it on

I had protected no claims when some idiot drove into the back of me, all repaired under his insurance but when renewal came around I had to stay with the current insurer or others refused to accept my ncd, some even refused to acknowledge the crash wasn't my fault even after the case had been closed after a court deciding in my favour and a settlement being agreed to pay for the car repairs (should have gone for whiplash too but not the type to claim for what I haven't got). because of this my current insurer was the only option at renewal. they dropped in price by something like 17% where as everyone else went up by about 30%

Your NCD will be protected but it's only a deduction which they allow you from the gross premium. Don't be surprised if they hike the gp........
