XK8 from £116 to £105 saga
Golf from £205 to £176 going from Aviva to saga

Just got my renewal for Kim's XK8 from Saga.

"Time to renew your Saga Standard car insurance as your policy expires soon - renew before 18 September 2024 to stay covered. Thanks for choosing Saga to insure your JAGUAR XK8, registration number xxxxx this year. Your policy is due to renew on 18 September 2024, and we've enclosed your new Schedule.

Your renewal price for the year is £116.48. Last year your policy cost £162.94."

Just had mine through from Saga for my MG too. Last year £184, this year £126!

For my everyday car I go through a cash back site - over the years, the quote have usually been lower than direct to the same insurance company, and then a few months later, I get 30 odd quid dumped in my account, meaning I usually end up paying less than 100 quid for fully comp, protected, 10,000 miles SDP and commuting.

I got my van renewal through from Directline a few days ago, and am now into their complaints procedure, as the renewal is over £300 more than a new quote using the exact same details.
Despite that being illegal, the renewal team are insistent the renewal quote is the best price I can get, despite being given the new quote number.

I'm with Adrian Flux, 2 heavily modified cars on a multicar policy and it was £75 cheaper.

Decided to add commuting to one car and it's still £50 cheaper than last year so that's a result.

Direct Line are one of the most expensive out there. Wouldn't even entertain them. They were having a laugh with landlord insurance too.

Lots of add ons that they say are part of a package, so you have to have them, at a high premium, but then when you tell them that you're going elsewhere, all of a sudden they can cut the premium by two thirds. I had two policies, with them, made a call to one other company, and saved over £550.
Next renewal I'm going to get a quote from Saga just to see whether they get anywhere near what they said they could do if I dropped the new company and went back to them. My guess is not.

only on certain things ,, if they dont want you they will quote you eye watering prices for no reasons ,,, they quoted me four times the price of my 135 m sport for an aygo .... I went else where ,,, no reason and no explanations ,,, they just said we dont want to insure that type of car , and I had been with them for a few years and no accidents or claims ,,, never tick the auto renew box on the policy as then they dont have to fight for your business as they have you already.

Ours is horrendous basically anything over 6 bedrooms and most people won't touch it. Went up 50% on last year and it wasn't cheap then.

I've just renewed with Saga, reduced from last year and wifey's had a bump this year.

Been with Hastings Direct for the last couple of years and has gone from £180 , £240 to £265. Each of the two renewals after arguing with them about the proposed price, and getting the price reduced. They quoted £384 this year and ended up at £265.

For me I make it a matter of principle to change companies if they take the pee on renewal.

The more that do, rather than ringing round and going back with a quote for them to beat the better imho.

I insured 2 cars for nearly the same price as one if them. Was with Principle insurance and they do not do multi-car. Would have been £750 for both last year.

Adrian Flux came in at £450 for the pair. The GTO is twice the BHP it came out of the factory with and the Golf has and extra 100bhp.
