As with others, based on experience the insurance will just fold like a red hot marsbar rather than fight your corner.
I clouted a beemer a few years ago and the driver admitted fault at the scene. Copper turned up……. And turned out to be his sister in law. Only two in the car yet when the assessor turned up there were claims for whiplash for all 4 occupants and oddly the statement provided by the attending officer was completely contradictory to my recollection. Insurance co couldn’t give a toss about what I’m fairly sure would count as a conflict of interest, or the 2 extra people that had materialised and paid out. Cost me a fortune at renewal
