Looks like you are on a winner now and would have suggested same bracing having gone through exactly the same on every car ever owned and abused.
Problem now watch out for flexi, Ilock are the best. Also check engine mounts.
Quite right if it was heat it would be at the joint to the head, i used to get that with V6 Cologne, cast iron manifold with inaccessable nuts and monster Garrett turbo.
