Car boot bargains

Round here there are car boots and every drill is 110 volt. Those big Bosch SDS drills go for nothing but the charger is always missing. They are cheap but you know deep down that they are stolen.

I must admit Im tempted but Ive got this little Saint on my shoulder saying dont encourage them

like most thigs . why would u sell decent tools at a fraction of the price if they wernt lifted .on the other hand if u didnt buy them someone else would ive had tools pinched thats the way it goes. whats allways got my back up is when people used to sell second hand tellys video and microwaves u knew it was out of someones house and wouldnt touch it with a bargepole

It is fairly obvious when its nicked gear, ie makita drills from dodgy looking scrote.

The bits ive scoured so have been from either engineering type sellers to the real bargains like the milling bits from middle aged woman who didnt know their true value

your slow its a scorned housewife and her hubbys been playing away . shese flogging his gear for next to nowt out of spite i got allsorts of one bird for peanuts and said have u split up from hubby yup was the reply .. so dont upset the missus

I once got a set of almost new King Cobra golf clubs like that. She had no idea of their worth and it was obviously revenge. So I got 450 quids worth for 25 quid........or I thought I had until my youngest swore them in

After my mom died (many years ago) we took her house contents to the car boot. For some reason she had a drawer full of carving knives. Some bloke picked one up and asked me how much so I said 10p. He asked if I would take 5p..........I told him he could have it.
Some people just cant stop themselves.

Then there's Mrs Robo's bargains, we had some mugs on the table when someone asked how much, she said "20p each or 5 for a quid", she wondered why the gave her a funny look

This is what concerns me. I live every day in fear that when I die my other half will sell all my stuff for what she thinks I paid for it !

My mrs first stop would be google, ebay or on here to find out what its actually worth (she knows full well I drive a hard bargain and I don't buy cheap junk..albeit I don't blow money for the sake of it...)
She might even make a profit lol...

A few years ago, a small car boot opened up near work.
I asked the boss and he let me nip out for a look, waste of time only 10 stalls.
So had a look and spotted a tripod, now I know a bit about camera stuff but this looked very robust and I had never heard of the make, gave him £6 for it sold it for almost £800 two weeks later and bought a caravan to take the kids on holiday, what a result just when I needed it

They are a fantastic piece of engineering, used world wide by film crews.
I had a very good Slik camera tripod and it was leagues ahead of that

I bought an big old brown enamel teapot for 20 p , that was my hot water supply on top of my range for over 10 years use, I think that was a good deal.

a few years ago when I was having a clearout I gave away a load of junk to a mate to sell at a car boot sale. one of the items was a whitefriars TV glass vase,like this one, that I thought it looked awful

and then I was told a few weeks later they go for anywhere between £200 and £350

Never can understand how such a value can be put on an item thats in abundance or quite a few knocking about,now if there half a dozen in the world then yes I'll understand.
