I do not know if this is common knowledge,
But thought I may pass it on,
There may be negatives for doing this, and many may frown for doing so.
The time has come to repair some dents in your project, and lead loading is not an option,
You reach for the tin of body filler that has been sat on the shelf for quite some time
The lid has eventually been prised off,
The filler has gone quite thick,
Adding the hardener, mixing and applying the filler will not make for a smooth finish,
But !!
Before adding any hardener !!
Add a very small amount of Acetone (nail varnish remover/hammerite brush cleaner)
The filler will be transformed to a pliable, smooth, workable paste, that you are able to 'thin' to your liking.
Now add your hardener in the usual fashion.
I have not noticed any problems from doing this, the few times I have done so.
I hope this may be of some use
ps: I added about 3 egg cups full, to a 2/3 full, 3kg large tin.
