Car alarm!

I took an alarm off a Motorcycle recently, he rang insurance first (in case we had to fit another in it's place) and believe it or not it was cheaper to insure without one!

Possible poor connections on the alrm circuit can cause problems. This was an '07 Focus, alarm kept going off, condensation/damp on the fusebox is a known issue, over time it corroded the tracks on the circuit board, had to scrape it all off and repair the tracks with solder.

The META alarm on my TRX went wonky after about 18 years of good service so I just removed it. Probably won't make my insurance any cheaper though, it's only £64 a year

I had one catch on fire a few years back on a Truimph.

Internal battery dead flat, put a new battery on to get it running and noticed some smoke coming from the tail unit!.

I think they have a 15amp fuse, that didn't blow..

Bloomin liability.

This is still a problem but intermittent. Some days it will keep going off but most it is silent.

Would one of those OBD2 port diagnostic readers be able to tell me what triggered the car alarm the last times it happened?
