the easiest option is collect the wood strap it to your roof rack nice and tight take a roll of parcel tape and tape the ends of the bundle together
shouldn't have any problems unless your going down the motorway at 70!!!!

If there's a law against it then all Vauxhall Zafiras are illegal as the A pillars on those are massive and have huge blind spots!

I've used the ladder trick a few times when carrying 6m antenna poles.

It's only about 5 miles round trip: too far to walk, not far enough to warrant delivery.

I'm also considering that I can use it to carry 10x5 sheets of ply.
(not that I fancy lifting 3/4" buffalo board that high!)
