I'm surprised after reading this thread that no-one has suggested horlicks immediately before going to bed. A woman suggested I try it as I also had problems getting off to sleep even with the Tesco sleep aid tablets. I tried it and I don't think it helped much for the first week or 10 days but now after a few weeks I find it very helpful. Heat about half pint of milk in cup in microwave add sugar if you prefer and about 4 heaped spoons of horlicks. I'm now asleep within a few mins of going to bed. Worth a try honest!
