Can't see where joint is to weld !

Sorry, don't know what happened there, Norm.
Baz been a welder all his life, can't do anything else cept weld and swear(in biblical amounts) When he's having a good day, can have a full on chat.Last good day was last Dec4th. It rained but was 16th anniversary of his wife's death Said "not all bad news then!"

Sorry Ron my fault, Baz sounds like a real character, ask him how he recommends doing this as I usually grind the metal clean before welding is that the same way he suggests or is his a different way, let us know how you get on when you try it regards Norm.

Oh yes, a real character, only when his mood is good. Once he wouldn't speak to me for 18months, cos I overtook him at high speed!
He changed his attitude cos he wanted for free some 680 rods he knew I had. Most cantankerous sod ever met, calm to satanic temper in seconds, for no reason. Came to our w/shop for some s/h suspension units, suggested he made a brew while I finished draining a sump. Made a potful and hurled it at the office door. Can't think why.
Don't know much of his history, gather he worked, making enemies,no doubt, at a large shipyard (Camell Lairds?) and then in the nuclear construction industry.
Called Blind Baz cos he wears jam-jar bottom glasses that have never been cleaned!
