sorry ... Im not getting your point here at all , its been suggested that the op checks the helmet is working ,,, several times , so what are you saying or are you just repeating that ?helmets are always safe from uv and ir. even if batteries are dead.
but the bright light can damage eyes (over time) if the lens is stuck on the resting shade. welding on shade 3 isnt good. again , know and understan how the equipment works. rule #1
