Yet if I let my mate drive my car and he hits something they tell me they are not interested and won't be paying out if the mate is not named on the insurance.
....
He is a rubbish driver anyways, no way is he getting in itPresumably the aggrieved party would have to sue your mate. You could be prosecuted for allowing an uninsured person to drive your car and your mate would have his collar felt for driving without insurance. All of which would increase your premiums, even prevent you from getting insurance.
The system here works well imho..the vehicle is insured so I can give my keys to anyone as long as they have a licence and they are covered ...but I don't know how that works if your car gets stolen ... is the thief covered ?
if the full fee for the year was 68 and you have paid up in full I would be telling them to take a run and jump and contact the insurance ombudsmanI've just recently sold my motorbike, so I phoned the insurance company to cancel the cover, to be told the fee for cancellation was £75(gasp) The cover was £68. So I said no chance and how can the fee be more than the original cover. They said you have to cancel if you no longer own the machine and no rebate FFS how many more peoples pants are they having down, so paid nowt. Bit of a rant over
That's not good. Because if the new owner fails to insure it then you become liable.Yes apparently now, when you take out insurance it is for the whole tweleve months so they rip you off if you wish to end early. For the future now i gues keep stum and let it end naturally and when they offer you new cover tell them where to shove it!

Insurance companies are getting much worse since they started using debt recovery..
They still claim the fee is for the administration involved to the you off the MiDB.if the full fee for the year was 68 and you have paid up in full I would be telling them to take a run and jump and contact the insurance ombudsman
We have been paying extra due to companies claiming there is an unsettled accident on file against a named driver.......a bit galling when it was in a work truck and a car reversed out into him anyway.I think these days insurance risk factors are based on how much they have lost that paticular month on claims going out and not on your (the drivers) risk to them
The wife doesn't need to be in the disabled category to make us wanna get away, trust meWe have been paying extra due to companies claiming there is an unsettled accident on file against a named driver.......a bit galling when it was in a work truck and a car reversed out into him anyway.
The letter had suggested this should have no affect......but it did and I am still chasing 3 refunds and a personal complaint against an operator.
First car that was written off did not cost me to cancel........second one cost me 25 quid. Not sure what annoys me the most loosing money all the time or being unable to get away from the wife for a few hours a week....... ( unless you have a disabled wife you won't understand the last comment)
Interesting vary.
The credit card company is joint and severally liable for goods or services you pay for with your card
Therefore they get to swing a big stick at them because I suppose you could bring a case directly against them instead of the insurer - do they want to be able to take that particular credit card again? I recon they do
