Hi folks.
I have an old Land Rover which is being restored to quite a wonderful standard. All steelwork is being blasted, repaired galved and then painted to ensure it lasts and is not obviously repaired. The original galvanised cappings have a great 'aged' look so are being kept.
However, when it comes to the aluminium, I'd like its battle scars as the paint is not really necessary.
The look I'm going for is the patinad old look of a working truck like this albeit with a perfectly restored and rust-proof steel skeleton.
The car was originally (in 1972) green but was over painted blue in the 1980s. The new paint and the green paint has rubbed thru to base alloy in places and I would like to get rid of the blue and just keep the old battle-damaged green paint.
So is it possible to remove the blue paint without completely removing the green paint underneath - obviously some loss is expected.
I'd also consider paint strippers, etc too.
Thank you.
