Can you buy the brass block in the torch?

Hello everyone

I'm new to this forum and new to welding.

Bought a second hand SIP 130 Turbo - the same as in the guide.

I've been messing around trying to get the wire feed actually delivering some wire (haven't been able to weld anything yet because it was too stiff). I think I'm getting there with it, but when putting it all back together I've managed to snap the chrome nut/stud that goes into the brass block (the one the gas pipe plugs into) - I've over-tightened and it just snapped off. Oh happy day.

I've tried to get the thread out of there but can't see it happening.

I've seen that I can buy a whole new torch, but does anyone know if it's possible to just buy the brass block from inside the torch? If not is it possible to just buy the chrome nut/stud/gas connector thing (it's possible I could tap the thread clear)

hello and welcome. I think you are after the gas valve? PM weldequip he supply's lots of bits for welders

a picture of the part might be good idea just to make sure you get the correct bit!

OK - hope I can link to a picture OK - yes that's worked - it's the brass block in the picture, and/or the chrome nut/stud connected to it (the one with the clear gas pipe coming out of it)

Looks like a fairly standard pneumatic fitting, try somewhere that supplies air fittings - Festo etc.

Weldequip has sorted me out - replacement block (in alu now) for about £20
