Yes you can spark erode tungsten carbide, a place I used to work had 6 wire EDM’s running 24/7 cutting carbide discs to make form tools for making the fins for car radiators and intercoolers.

You could of used a portable edm drilling machine. Would of spark eroded that out fairly easily.
