Thanks for your message the cars worth about £2k Mazda 2. Car still run fine. But £800 is a lot of money.They can be welded, but it needs some talent with the tig torch, personally a s/h part would be my way or give up on the aircon, are the repair costs more than the car is worth???

I think you are right after looking at it on my car Does that mean I need both parts as the left one looks like it's part of the condenser ?Have a look inside the mushroom shaped bit and see if there's a spring that looks like a bit like inner spring that's inside a lip seal (Oil Seal), if it's missing you need another pipe assembly as that is the locking system spring, the pipes may not have not been pushed enough to lock together. being as the left hand pipe locking flange looks a bit misshapen.

Thats how I repair aircon and power steering pipes - they do unequal ones as well
