I'm listening to what your all saying but would have expected figures somewhat higher than 33. As a lot say, it could be down to how she drives. The scenic shows not impressive figures when Mrs drives it but climbs to good when I get in. She IS a really bad driver though. So bad, I refuse to sit on the left hand side. Blasts up to junctions, never reads the road, last minute reactions e.t.c. None of which would change with a later model car. As I say, she only ever drives around town so I wanted to avoid a modern derv with all the possible problems of pottering round town.
used to manage 22mpg ish with a LWB series 111 petrol with the economy weber carb road tyres and overdrive but any thoughts of pushing on a bit dropped it to 15/18 mpg depending on hills those were the days when petrol was a lot less in 1986 less than two pound a gallon never mind a litre
