I was given a tape, yes an audio tape, of the cockpit conversations on the Falklands mission.

I have yet to listen to it though. Quite a number of books on the aircraft too, its fantastic!

Can you transfer that onto your computer and put the files up on the internet for us to listen to ? could be interesting...

The "black buck raids" as they were called are an interesting story and absolutely amazing from a logistics point of view, but looking at the bigger picture it was only a move by the RAF to try and get some glory from a conflict that weren't involved in, other than as a taxi service to move supplies and people.

The Vulcan is one of my all-time favourite planes, I hope to build a RC scale model of it one day and fly my own 'black buck raids'

I think I read somewhere that the pilot who did that roll was ordered to never do such a dangerous thing again

get yourself to carlton bank and ingleby bowl midweek the tornadoes fly underneath u and pass alongside when hangliding or paragliding there in pairs as well just in case the 1st one didnt put the sh....its up u

sounds like a great place to fly....who got there 1st,the canvas boys or the jets?

if u fly midweek its courtesy to phone leeming tower and give grid refrence where your flying and expected heights, them lads realy are on the ball and switched on

It wasn't the last time! XH558 gets close to it quite often, I'm sure they will on the very last trip, it would be a must do.

That's what the B52 looked like, big scorch mark and real looking wreckage.

The vulc did goodwood FS last year, fantastic showing , she flew round for ages
and posed around with her flaps open as usual.

Such a Tart! A mate and I had a lucky break Sept 2013 coming past Kemble Airodrome, the Canberra was taxiing so we dived in a layby to watch and luckily enough it took off. What we didn't expect was the full airshow routine using us as a focal point, twice! She flew past with everything open and dangling possible.......
