Hi everyone. Was wondering if anyone could help me out with a problem.
I have a Tecarc 166i ac/dc welder.
It's just barely 2 years old and has had little usage. All the plugs, connections and switches etc are all fine. Had used it for about 10 minutes or so, set the torch down to take a call. When I picked the torch up to weld nothing happened. Powers on, fan is on, amp reading working but wee red light ( red lightening sign) and won't weld or arc on the tig or arc mode.
Any ideas as to how this can be fixed or what the fault is?
Live in Northern Ireland and there doesn't seem to be any engineers or technicians that deal with tecarc over here. I've had welding technicians and engineers look at and they can't see what the problem is (they seem to deal with everything except Tecarc). Told me there shouldn't be a problem with the machine as the machine looks like it has just come out of a shop and can't understand why it just stopped, especially when there has been very little use.
I thought these welders (Tecarc)) were supposed to be British that's why I bought it. When the fault occurred I looked in to make sure nothing was loose and to my amazement there was a top Chinese board in it. Now I'm beginning to think I've bought yet another Chinese fob off.
All information will be greatly appreciated.
