For rent free gas you can try ffyfes in dunmurray or ballyclare but NOT ballymena (they're a BOC agent)

Flip, I cant remember the actual names of the places I phoned. Just got a list of a few Sealey Dealers and rang round for curiousity. Although I already new it would be much more as I normally find local factors expensive compared to what I can source elsewhere...although there are 1 or 2 that are decent to deal with but still want close to RRP for anything Clarke, sealey etc. One outfit was in Bangor, two in Belfast. If I find my bit of paper with the names I'll send you the details.

I found the same with the Belfast based dealers and I can tell you from personal experience that the guy who advertises all the time on gumtreee as a Clarke reseller in NI is a clown.

Modern Machinery Supplies in Lisburn or Dennis Wilsons in Glenavy are worth a look and you can get a good price if you're persuasive

Yeah I know the guy your talking about. I actually grabbed a set of axle stands off him a few months back simply because they were a few quid cheaper than anywhere else...but havent looked twice at anything else and havent any knowledge regards the set up except I was directed to some out of the way shed to pick the stands up from some chap. To be honest I generally steer clear of the local Gumtree offerings as I've dealt with too many dishonest individuals in the past. And Im trying to stick to buying as much as possible new so I can just worry about my learning curve. I'm a late starter with hobby auto work (tinkering)...knew ****** all until very recently when I just decided to bring a vehicle back from Lake District...strip it...and start rebuilding. But I'm hooked now...my biggest challenge has been tools...I owned ****** all a few years ago so every time I go out to the shed...I come in needing to save up for something else to get a job done...but its great...my tool collection is rapidly becoming more valuable than the rest of the family assets!!! And my haynes manual collection now commands its own shelf!!!

I was amazed at the prices being quoted to me locally but I am very happy with the deal I've got and have since had some feedback on the Supermigs which has me feeling confident it will be a good companion to keep learning on.

Turns out my local mechanic is using a Supermig 150 and a 185. I spotted them whilst walking past the garage and popped in to ask him about them. He told me the 185 is quite old and only ever needed a torch replaced and a few liners and the usual consumanles...and the 150 is barely 6 months old so is going to be very same as mine...he reckons its a spot on little machine for most everydays bits and bobs.

So heres hoping....when I get up and running I'll stick some feedback on here.

Can I ask where you bought that supermig 150 I'm looking to buy something similar for some classic car repairs. I'm in N.I. too so am looking to save on delivery
