What do you mean exactly? contaminate the steel by grinding it?

I would say no.

The most common reason for eruptions or bubbles in the weld (I assume you posted on the thread because that's what you have) is lack of shielding gas.

A badly cleaned rusty surface, or a seam with paint boiling away inside it can make welding a pain, but bubbly welds tend to be weld oxidisation through lack of shielding gas.

yes it can, a good example is using a disc to clean Aluminium that has also been used on Steel. If you don't want this to happen then use Carbide burrs

Yes, if you are grinding a joint out, you need to make sure there are no particle of the disc trapped in the gaps, or you will have problems.
A blow out with an airline usually gets it all out.

Go grind some stainless with a flap disc then do some alloy with the same one and weld it..... goes all gritty looking.
