Hi all,
Hopefully this is the right place to put this
A friend is asking for recommendations for a good welder/fabricator in the North London (Harrow) area to repair a wheelchair.
It seems the user was trying to drive the chair up a kerb and the pivot that connects the wheel to the frame broke. Picture below:
The detail they've provided is:
Any recommendations for anyone who can take this on at a reasonable cost? It is quite urgent.
Thank you

It seems the user was trying to drive the chair up a kerb and the pivot that connects the wheel to the frame broke. Picture below:

Here are a couple of photos which I hope capture the problem. One shows the front right wheel which is still intact, and the other shows the front left wheel which has broken off.
The wheel is held in place by an arch (1) onto which is welded what is probably a bolt, or could be a knut into which a bolt is screwed in (3) - it’s probably more likely that (3) is a bolt. What’s labelled (2) is the broken surface of the bolt which has snapped. Originally this bolt extended upwards and went through a tube (4) on the frame of the wheelchair and was held in place on top of the tube by a knut (5). The top half of the bolt is still there inside the tube, we’ve tried removing the knut (5) to take that part of the bolt out but you can’t easily remove the knut with just a spanner because there’s nowhere to hold the bolt still and the bolt just spins inside the tube.
So the first challenge is to get the top part of the bolt out from the tube. That might involve drilling into the bolt from underneath (4) to be able to attach something to clamp it still so the knut (5) can be removed.
The second challenge depends on whether (3) is actually part of the bolt itself. If it is then it needs to be removed from the arch by breaking the weld that’s holding it in place.
If we can do both of those things then provided we can find a new bolt of the right size it might be possible to weld that back onto the arch and refit it to the tube.
Any recommendations for anyone who can take this on at a reasonable cost? It is quite urgent.
Thank you
