It's some kind of crimping tool, but I can't really see what. I've cleaned it up a bit.
How does it work then.
That makes sense.It might be good to see a picture of how the knob that adjusts the bent plate works.
However, here is a guess at its operation: one handle has the two outer anvils connected to it. The other handle has the middle anvil connected to it. The tooth to be set projects into the hole. Its depth is set by the bent sheet metal metal part. The anvil that has the spring attached to it does the pressing.
