Looks like a Makita to me except for the colour . Did the guard look like it was held on with 3 screws ???

Probably cheaper to buy a new one!

What colour was the body, looks like its been on the bonfire

I've got those parts but took it apart the other night to take the worn bearing out and didn't re-assemble it for the pictures.

Its light green in colour

The cable sheath is also snapped leaving the conductor wires exposed.not a good state of affairs,With the price of angle grinders these days I would definitely retire that one and buy new, (just noticed your location and maybe that explains the "thrift")

That is a late 80's black and decker profesional, came in 2 versions, one with a m14/115mm spindle and a smaller m12 or m10 100mm.

am i the only one that thinks if its lasted that well it better than getting a cheap new one that wont last a year let alone ten like that one

It was actually left behind by the previous owner of the garage I rent. I do have my own Bosch 7-115 model which I bought new. The brushes wore out on the Bosch and I started using this one till I got new brushes for the Bosch but have never went back to the Bosch as I just prefer this one it feels smoother for some reason so I thought it might be worth getting new brushes and when I was giving it the once over I noticed the main bearing was a little worn.

If I get new brushes for it I dare say I'll wrap some tape round that. Got a new bearing for the princely sum of £3
