Can anyone/does anyone want to cut me 2 gaskets from some 1mm copper? For my jet engine combustion chamber :D

Have got dxfs of them and they nest within each other nicely to reduce the waste.

Ring part is 251mm OD (could be 250mm since few ebay listings sell 250*250) 210mm ID with 15 equally spaced 12mm holes with the hole centre spaced 9mm in from the outside edge.

Rectangular part is 138x98mm with a central 88x58mm cutout with 5mm radius corners.

Have sent a few quotes to random companies but expecting an insane amount for a small job hence asking here also. Would be happy to purchase a sheet from ebay and ship to you or add on the cost if you order it.

Small jobs and one off often have the same amount of machine set up as much larger jobs.

Why not do it yourself? It wouldn't be hard to do with hand tools and it's only a gasket, it doesn't need to be perfect.

Well previous job for some 1mm 304ss (one a4 and one a3 sized sheet with holes in them) I had quotes ranging from £80-150 until I found a company offering to do it all for ~£35 so I'm expecting these quotes to be pretty high.

Why not do it yourself? It wouldn't be hard to do with hand tools an it's only a gasket, it doesn't need to be perfect.

I wouldn't be happy with how messy it'll look , might just have to put away my pride and attempt it.

Burs can be cleaned off which I'd be doing anyway if I hand cut it so not really worried about them, I'm possibly thinking about making the ring from 1mm aluminium or just using 350°c silicone sealant as that wouldn't experience the same amount of heat as the rectangular one will on the turbine scroll (~700-800°c)

I could just buy the single use stainless gaskets but at £5 a copper reusable one would be better.

I'm not sure I'm reading this right - you have the option to use a £5 gasket?

If so, surely that's your best plan?

Its single use where I can reuse the copper one (might have to unbolt a couple of times i.e transporting) as my flanges are almost perfectly flush and a sheet of copper the right size is practically the same price to make one.

Also the bolt holes on the flange aren't perfectly positioned so would have to modify it anyway.

You should be able to make those flanges flat enough so they need no gasket. I did it on my turbo manifold back in 2007 using a large flat file and a roll of emery cloth and it's never needed a gasket even 15 years later.

My lathe is a bit too small otherwise Id offer to turn the OD and ID with it superglued to a plate. Holes are best done with a punch, which can be done with it in the flange as a location guide.

Dill one location hole and clamp it up in the flange. Use a punch to add holes and clamp it up as you add them, Knife around it to trim the OD. Find center, mark and trim the ID with a nibbler.

I was thinking that but safer bet to have a gasket of some sorts as don't need a hot jet of gas leaking out if the mild steel and cast flanges expand differently.

No such thing will happen. Cast iron and steel have very similar rates of thermal expansion and in any case the expansion of both is linear. Two flat faces bolted together will still be two flat faces bolted together if they expand.

The thinner mild flange does have a slight bowl shape to it from the welding, the inner edges contact first so when I crank down the bolts it appears to seal well thanks to that but can't easily test the seal and feel I should err on the side of caution by using some sort of gasket.
