Right guys well two things happened lately, bought my self a new camera my gran sadly passed away while I was away at sea which was a real bummer, as I was unable to attend the funeral. This though has left me with the task of clearing out my gandpas camera gear. I have done some research and apparently my new Olympus omd 10 mrk 2, can take older lenses with adaptors. Can you guy shed any more light on the lenses and some of the cameras I have here. I know the Minolta 7000 is one of the first semi digital cameras with all electronic controls except it uses film.

There's a Russian made Zenit E amongst the cameras. These have an M42 threaded lens mount.

You can get lots of adapters but you won’t have a split screen to focus

I put split screens in my 550d (cheap Chinese) and my 5d (genuine canon)

You can get AF confirm chips but they don’t work on my setups, focus peaking on the view screen is good and that is what I use on my EOS m when I have manual glass on it

right I know I need the adaptors as if the lenses won't be the right distance from the mirror. And I understand you need to manually focus them. But what is a split screen one I'm assuming it allows the view finder and back screen to work, and I suppose af confirm chips are a digital version of this.

Most dSLRs have a manual focus facility, with focus confirm of one sort or another. Afaik, the register distance of the OMdigitals is less than the older film OMs so you'd probably be able to use just about any of those lenses there, with suitable manual adapters.
From a quick google, it seems your flange focal distance is 19.25mm, which is great, as it means almost every lens made for film SLRs will fit (providing somebody makes an adaptor).
I see yours has a built-in image stabilisation, which is good. Saves having to pay through the nose for stabilised lenses.

It used to be the case that Canon was the choice for fitting legacy nearly-all-makes lenses, as the Canon register distance was pretty much the shortest available, both in film and digital SLRs, which is why I bought a digi-Canon.

To the best of my knowledge, the Minolta lenses will fit the later Sony dSLRs as a straight fit, as Sony took over the Minolta line.

There's something quite nice about being able to use decent quality glass from a previous era on a modern body - but especially when it comes from the same stable. Your Granpa's old Olympus lenses on your modern Olympus is kinda neat.
I do the same with a selection of older Pentax film (both manual and AF) lenses on my Pentax dSLR.
