Camarc 301

Hi all, I've been offered an old camarc 301 mig single phase. It seems to run perfectly, I tried it with 1.2 wire on full power and .8 on low and it runs smooth. I'm not sure how old it is, 20yrs maybe. Also it doesnt have an on/off switch. It comes with a big bottle of gas and new roll of 1.2wire. Can spares still be found for these? The lot is been sold for 350euro.

Looks like a very serious professional piece of kit, especially since it has a separate wirefeed unit. There are 24 power settings. If needed, you should confirm that it goes low enough for thin sheet ( e.g. 30A ). As for spares, it is unlikely with something as simple and solid as this that you will need any. The price seems fair. Note that the gas bottle may be rented, so you may actually have to return that to the original supplier ( after you've used the gas .... )

Thanks for replies lads.
That one on ebay looks to be more modern but has exact same dial settings and configuration. It does go fairly low , I will try it more today. The only part I need is a 1 to 1.2 drive roller and the rolls for sale in walsh engineering seem to be for a more modern machine. The roll on mine is .6 to .8 and has a slot for a woodruff key, so if anyone has a few spare bits for an old camarc laying around...let me know.

good looking bit of kit if you take out the roller and measure it. a lot rollers fit into different machines and if you're really stuck you could get one made
