Calor Propane cost?

Wondering how much a 47kg cylinder cost to fill?

Anything between £60 and £75, I've stopped buying it, in the last five years it's more than doubled in price, it's now cheaper to use electric heating in my small workshop, I have a super ser type heater for when its really cold that uses 15kg butane, £32.99 just before Christmas, just 12 months ago they were £19.99.

I use 47 KG propane cylinders for home heating and the cost is now ridiculous !
When I first started I was paying £28 each, it gradually increased until the 2008 season I was paying £54, so I had a concerted phone around and found a new local supplier at £48. That held from the 2008 season right through the 2009 season but went up December 1 to £50 and Jan 1 to £52 !!! What makes me angry is the obvious profiteering thats going on when the suppliers in a given area hike it up to what they can get away with. Must get my Lister CS CHP system running !!

get the lpg to propane converter go down the local garage and fill it up cheaper sume garages p,.,.s u right off and wont let u fill em but others will and u save cash

u screw it onto the propane bottle and converts to lpg fitting in the garage forcourt and u fill the bottle me bruvs just made a copy of sumones look em up there selling on ebay about 25 quid i believe google it

I am wondering if I should fill a Calor 47kg cylinder or pay the rental on my B size BOC propane cyl. B size is that's about 1/4 the height of the 47kg and I can't remember how much the gas cost. But I haven't filled it for maybe 4 years and this years rental has just arrived[£26].
Whats with Calor and their cylinder hire. My dad hired a small one for camping in the 60's and used it for 10 years or so without paying any more hire/rental, after the initial payment. I take it I can just get the Calor cylinder filled?.

I get them from local Calor dealer for £50, I used to use FloGas as they were cheaper.
During the recent freeze i ran out of Calor and they didn't have any 47's so i decided to swap an old FloGas 47, They wanted £96 per bottle !!!
