Calling all Sparkys, 3ph advice please

Hi. when I connected a power out socket into my 3 phase fuse box, did I wire the earth correctly? My wiring is not shown as these are old pictures, but I wired the earth (for the socket) into the brass block in the top left of the first pic.







I can't think why I connected it there but does this look right?

You obviously do not have a clue what you are doing there ! You are putting you and everyone else at risk of serious injury / death !


Contact a proper electrician ASAP !

The earth is in the bottom right of the metal box, and connected to the connector block at the bottom of the meter board.

Looks like you've connected your socket earth to a phase or a neutral. Most likely the neutral if you survived to start this thread.

That's the neutral block, as above, get a sparky in before you live (sic) up to the 2nd part of your username!

Thank you all.

My welder was the only 3ph item I had until I picked up a motor for my power hacksaw. As i wanted to earth the motor casings I thought I'd have a look over the entire setup and it just didn't look right. I'm not making excuses as it was myself who wired it that way initially.

Time to call in someone qualified. Should I be looking to have a new distribution board fitted at the same time?

if you can afford it get a new board fitted as that is most likely a wire fuse unit so not the best protection.
