cadet cart

Hi all,

Completely random but thought someone on here may have experience with these.

Been offered 125cc cadet kart for £100.

Its through a friend of a friend (he was going to buy it for his daughter but changed his mind).

No idea how old it is. Just know its been in a container for a while and is supposedly a runner.
My son races mini-motos so thought it might be worth having just for the odd bit of fun.

Anyone had one before? Parts expensive?

if you want to enter competitions then karts have a homolgation life which is 6 years (3 years of production and then 3 years after) I think so you might want to check that before buying. Arrive and drive wouldn't have that limitation

If you want to be competitive then the younger the chassis the better as they change through use and certainly change if cracked and repaired. They can also be twisted through accidents etc.

When my son raced TKM's they had a serial number stamped on them usually on one of the rear axle supports and the first two digits were the year

tyres were probably the most expensive item with the front runners requiring two new sets per weekend at around £120 per set. A major bone of contention with my boy as his cheapskate dad wouldn't cough up for more than one set every few meetings
