Well, having slogged my guts out for not a lot of reward over the years, and dipping my fingers in numerous pies to keep afloat, I've just added a little bit extra strain to the income for the future.

I've taken the plunge and enroled on an LGV/HGV training course, that should hopefully see me driving Rigids and Artic's within a few months. Driver CPC is included if I pass the C licence. SO here's hoping!

What with the "responsibilities" being loaded on to a couple of guys plates at work, me included, its getting towards breaking point, as the wages haven't changed, but we're expected to have four or five job titles, where the other 50 of the workforce drag their heels and do a bare minimum.

I've also got three kids to provide for, and the Mrs is keen for a fourth too!

good luck on taking the test and coarse, been far too many years since i did my hgv 1, (pre tacho days) the transport industry has changed a lot over the years, and has gotten easier and cleaner, some good money to be had with the right company`s, can be a lot of waiting at delivery point with a lot thou, be prepared to be sitting behind the truck in front doing 52mph while you just manage 52 and a half, or take for ever to overtake and pi$$ the drivers behind off, (not a good idea) with luck you will have no roping (or strapping) and sheeting, remember you will need a tacho digi card

dont forget all your infringements will stay on the card for two years so mr vosa can download your card to see if you have been a naughty boy....... no more throwing the analogue charts out the window on a saturday or driving under someone elses name ( allegedly of course this is what ive heard Ma lud )
