Buying first mig welder

Hi folks. My names dave and I am new to the forum.I would appreciate some advice please.I am planning to attempt welding a small part of the chassis on my landrover. Would a gas less mig welder be ok and which welder would you reccomend.Thanks.

Gasless would work but is harder to use than gas MIG.

I would at least get a gasless/gas MIG. That would give you more freedom and gassless-only MIGs tend to be real cheap.

Something like the Clarke 135EN would do. The 151EN would be a bit better as it gives you more power.

Al lot depends on your budget and what else you plan on using it for.

Thanks for that Shenion, I plan on using it on cars mainly.Sorry to be a pain,but I take it I would need different types of wire for gas/gasless welding? Obviously all instructions would come with the welder but I think it is always best to get advice from someone who has the experience,

Yes, there are two types of wire. Gasless wire has a flux core. Gas wire is solid with usually a copper coating.

The polarity would also need to be changed. Should be in the manual.
