Oh, actually these ones are 700kg. Which is odd as other sellers using exactly the same photos say 600kg.

These ones must be special, I guess...

If you are having 4 castors then 37.5kg load on each I think those will do the job with a big margin to spare.

Aside from optimistic Chinese ratings..
4x 250kg castors will probably support an evenly distributed one ton trolly just fine.
It's when you fit them to a 150kg trolly, push it along, and one wheel hits a lump/door frame/kerb.
It's not often castors collapse under the constant load, or even wear out. Quite common to see failed swivel bearings & sheared off wheels though.

Decent branded ones are expensive. Some ridiculously expensive.

I'd guess the cheap ones are all much the same, along with an element of pot luck as to how good the set you receive are.

If going for cheap ones the most important thing will be to get a common size mounting then at least they will be easy to replace if they do break.

Exactly that - they tend to buckle if you look at them sideways on anything other than a perfectly smooth surface.

Yes its the swivel parts that break up in my experience,

It is a general rule of thumb, if you have four castors under something, to calculate on the basis of 1/3 of the total per castor rather than 1/4.

and forget about getting a CAD file from them......

I deferred to Mcmaster Carr......
