Rather that than a R-tech any dayThere's a port mig 185 in the forsale section now. I have the same machine with a tecarc badge, nice to learn welding with.

Relatively. Depends on how good the mask and gloves are, really. Most welders will come with torch and reg so it's down to whether the mask and gloves are any good. Also a company called Autoadvisor are selling a GYS easymig 160 with mask, gloves, torch and regulator for £525, that good value.
As an inverter MIG, there should be no fixed limits to the power output, in terms of voltage and wire speed.Hi, its in Aberdeen, thats a long way to pickup. There is a GYS Smartmig 162 Compact Mig Welder for sale on ebay, very little use £333 unusual number but nearly half the price of new, but only 4 setting and wire speed.

It's 5% CO2, 95% Argon. That's what was recommended to me for thin metal, up to a few mm.What are the pro and cons? I will wait and see what comes with the kit, I need to organise gas as well, Probably go for something like 10 Ltr rent free about £150. Is 5% Argon best?

Were you welding outside? Looks like you were welding with no gas half the time. Show the back side of the weld too, rust or dirt could have similar symptoms.
Voltage too high or wire speed too low, adjust one at a time a little until you can weld a proper bead then you will likely need further adjustments to get the bead you want.Keep getting a pop and wire blows back about 1cm with hot globule on end of wire, any ideas?
18 what? PSI, L/m, CFH? If this is the dial on the regulator then it may get you in the ballpark once you know your set up but from my experience a pea shooter style would be better, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/135772331086?_skw=pea+shooter+gas or https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/236080726551?_skw=welding+gas+flow+meter I MIG around 12 to 15L/mGas flow at 18 on dial.
